Special Features of a Topcat Wedding Performance

  • The bride and groom may choose the songs for their special dances. In some cases the band will learn a special song of the couple's choosing, as long as it is physically possible and given enough time, otherwise recordings of the songs can be played on iPod or CD.

  • The Topcats will allow the happy couple to choose what songs will or will not be played at their reception. Some couples love line dances. Some don't. Some couples have a money dance. Others do not. The Topcats' vast songlist covers virtually all musical genres and can please people of all ages.

  • The band uses a smaller, portable sound system for weddings. The sound is concentrated around the dance floor. The Topcats realize a wedding is not a concert. People can talk at their tables without shouting at each other, yet others can party on the dance floor all night long!

  • The Topcats' smaller setup allows for quicker setup and tear down times, which caterers love, and the smaller equipment is unobtrusive as not to detract from an elegant setting. The Topcats have played at virtually every reception venue in the New Orleans area. Check out The Topcats' list of wedding venues below.

The Topcats' List of Wedding Venues

Nowhere is The Topcats' professionalism more evident than in the band's performance at weddings and the band's relationship with the various wedding reception venues in the New Orleans area. Most venues frown on live bands and will even try to talk the client out of having a live band, in favor of a DJ, because of the logistics involved with a band. The Topcats are an exception to this because of their reputation for professionalism and a fine entertainment value. Virtually every wedding venue on the list below would recommend The Topcats, and the band could not ask for a tougher group of critics than those on the list below! Please let the band know if anyone has been left off of this list. As years go by, the list gets longer and longer!
