A very easy (only three gigs) week of work…this past Wednesday was another fantastic night at Legends. Thursday we had off. Friday we played a very easy wedding at Southern Oaks in New Orleans East. It seems that it’s been some time since we were last at Southern Oaks. We were booked for three hours. A brass band led the wedding party in and played the first half hour. The d.j. did the money dance and the garter and bouquet toss and we sat in a room in the back and ate and enjoyed the food and wonderful hospitality of the staff at Southern Oaks. If you are ever there you have to try the praline chicken. Saturday night we played at the Riverside Hilton for the Krewe of Caesar. We’ve been playing this ball for many years. It’s always one of the biggest and best we’ll play during Mardi Gras season. We played along side of the Wiseguys…alternating sets. Have you heard the Wiseguys? They sounded fantastic. You should check ‘em out sometime. And that’s was our week of work. Check the calendar as we will not be at Legends this Wednesday. The Topcats return to the great metropolis of Harahan, La. to play the Kamp. But we will be at Legends on Friday… Huh??? Check the calendar!!! And we hope to see you there… somewhere.
